Soluxio solar smart pole to monitor air traffic

Smart City ready with API connection

In this project the Soluxio monitors air traffic. To explain, multiple sensors are placed at the top of these solar smart poles. With these sensors our Swiss client can, among other things, measure how many airplanes fly over the area, the aircraft noise, wind direction and rainfall. Moreover, the Soluxio smart poles do not have a grid connection and therefore fully operate on solar power.

Furthermore, our client uses the available API (Application programming interface). An API is a connection between software programs which allows the programs to talk to each other. So, with this API connection our client receives the data from the smart poles in their own monitoring software. As a result they can easily use and merge our data with their own.

Smart pole with 2 maintenance hatches and a double bracket

On top of these 7-meter-tall poles a double bracket is placed. This double bracket is perfect to position all the desired sensors. Also, the aluminum poles have 2 maintenance hatches. Behind one hatch FlexSol’s Control Unit, which includes the electronics and battery, is placed. The other hatch is an extra hatch which the client uses for their own equipment.

The client explored different other solutions before using the Soluxio smart city solar pole. In the end, the Soluxio turns out to be the best solution. Because of the elegant design in combination with the numerous possibilities, our client is going to use more Soluxio smart poles for their business.
